Research On The Impact Of Enterprise Innovation On High-Quality Development Of Enterprises Under Import Competition

The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly pointed out that high-quality development is the primary task of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way,science and technology innovation occupies a core position in the overall situation of socialist modernization,and the international competition in the field of science and technology is becoming increasingly fierce,and clarifying the interaction mechanism between innovation and high-quality development is of great practical significance for further improving innovation capabilities and realizing innovation-driven development.At the same time,the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee proposed to "implement high-level opening up and open up a new situation of win-win cooperation".The fundamental purpose of actively expanding imports is to serve the high-quality development of China’s economy.Since2006,the Party Central Committee has unswervingly adopted measures to expand imports such as lowering import tariff barriers,which to a certain extent has promoted the upgrading of domestic consumption and increased the import competition faced by domestic enterprises.In the context of expanding imports,it is of great practical significance to explore the impact of enterprise innovation on the high-quality development of enterprises.Therefore,how to maintain high-quality development under import competition has become an urgent problem for domestic enterprises.This paper takes enterprise innovation to give enterprises competitiveness as the starting point,and focuses on the effectiveness of enterprise innovation in coping with import competition.A-share manufacturing enterprises from 2008 to 2019 were selected as panel data samples,and the effectiveness of enterprise innovation in coping with import competition and the impact mechanism on high-quality development of enterprises were systematically analyzed by constructing the interaction effect model of import competition and enterprise innovation.The results show that,firstly,both innovation input and innovation output can effectively cope with import competition and promote the high-quality development of enterprises,which is stable under multiple robustness tests.Secondly,enterprise innovation can effectively respond to import competition and promote high-quality development,depending on the competitive strategy choice of enterprises,in the short term,driven by rapid profit-seeking,enterprises prefer cost-leading strategies,but over time,enterprises pursue sustainable competitiveness and then bias differentiation strategies,which shows the "competitive strategy bias effect".At the same time,import competition will bring certain risks and uncertainties to enterprises,which will have an impact on the performance of enterprises to a certain extent,and then affect enterprises’ judgment on innovation investment.Therefore,this paper explores whether corporate innovation plays different roles under different business conditions.The results show that when faced with high internal performance difficulties and operating difficulties in the life cycle,enterprise innovation can more effectively cope with import competition,which shows a "resilience effect".This study not only promotes and deepens the interdisciplinary research of enterprise innovation management and trade economics,but also provides feasible strategic measures for the high-quality development of enterprises under crisis scenarios.This paper breaks through the existing regional-level research and explores the relationship between firm innovation,import competition and high-quality development at the enterprise level,which is different from most scholars who verify the response of enterprise innovation to import competition based on the principle of explicit preference,but takes innovation variables as interactive variables to explore how enterprise innovation actively responds to import competition.In addition,based on the data of Word2 Vec natural language processing,this paper incorporates competitive strategy into the research on the mechanism of enterprise innovation,and reflects the preferences of enterprises in cost leadership and differentiation through different competitive strategy choices,so as to realize the effectiveness of enterprise innovation in responding to import competition.This paper creatively incorporates the "resilience" research in psychology into the mechanism research of this paper,and combines the theory of corporate behavior and prospect theory to reveal that enterprise innovation can play a resilient role in helping enterprises resist difficulties.
