In the more than 40 years since the reform and opening up,China has bid farewell to a shortage economy, and the consumer structure of residents has undergone a new round of upgrading and transformation, with more turning towards "personalized and diversified" consumption.Focusing on the tourism industry and tourism enterprises, how to adapt to the transformation of the extensive demands of tourists towards "personalization and diversification" through improving service quality, which is the core competitiveness,is the top priority in the current social background. In relevant research on work input, work input is generally believed to have a positive impact on organizational effectiveness;for tourism enterprises, the most fundamental reflection of organizational effectiveness is its service performance, and the improvement of service performance often depends on the improvement of service quality. Therefore, this study, from an institutional perspective, selects tourism enterprise employees as survey objects;by further defining the conceptual connotations of the above variables through reviewing relevant literature on institutional legitimacy, work input, and the three basic psychological needs and based on the Institutional Legitimacy Maturity Scale, the UWES,and the GNSS,a survey questionnaire that conforms to reality was compiled with the comprehensive opinions of tourism scholars and experts in the tourism industry and pre-survey analysis results.A total of 319 survey questionnaires were distributed, and 303 valid questionnaires were collected.A series of empirical analyses were conducted using statistical analysis software such as SPSS26.0 and AMOS24.0 to verify the relationship between institutional legitimacy, the three basic psychological needs, and work input. The research conclusions are as follows:(1)Institutional legitimacy has a significant positive impact on work input(β=0.42,P<0.01).(2)Institutional legitimacy has a significant positive impact on autonomy needs(β=0.87,P<0.01).(3)Institutional legitimacy has a significant positive impact on competence needs(β=0.23,P<0.01).(4)Institutional legitimacy has a significant positive impact on relatedness needs(β=0.37,P<0.01).(5)Autonomy needs have a significant positive impact on work input(β=0.87,P<0.01).(6)Autonomy needs of the basic psychological needs have a mediating effect in the impact of institutional legitimacy on employee work input(Point Estimate=0.757,Z>1.96).The above conclusions indicate that the institutional legitimacy of tourism enterprises directly affects employee work input and indirectly affects employee work input through the three basic psychological needs.Among them, autonomy needs have a direct impact on the regulation of institutional legitimacy, which ultimately affects employee work input.
