Digital inclusive finance is one of the most important trends in the development of finance in the modern world,and its development can effectively boost domestic demand and significantly increase residents’ consumer spending.In recent years,with the arrival of "Internet+" and the strong support provided by information technology,digital inclusive finance has developed rapidly,greatly improving the accessibility of financial services and effectively promoting the scientific allocation of financial resources.Under the current economic and financial situation,it has become an issue of great concern to study the role and effect of digital inclusive finance in urban and rural residents’ consumer spending.The study of this issue can not only help us clarify the role and effect of digital inclusive finance on China’s economic development,but also provide a theoretical basis for gradually narrowing the gap between urban and rural residents’ consumption expenditure and improving residents’ happiness index,which is of great significance in today’s context.Based on this,this paper studies the impact of digital inclusive finance on urban and rural residents’ consumption expenditure in Shanxi Province,which can,on the one hand,expand the scope of the research on the impact of digital inclusive finance on urban and rural residents’ consumption expenditure and,at the same time,supplement the research gap of the impact of digital inclusive finance on urban and rural residents’ consumption expenditure in the region of Shanxi Province and,to a certain extent,enrich the existing research content,and,on the other hand,can be based on the On the other hand,based on the actual development of Shanxi Province,the research analysis of the impact of digital inclusive finance on urban and rural consumer spending in Shanxi Province can find the right direction for the sustainable development of Shanxi economy and put forward targeted opinions,which has theoretical and practical significance.Firstly,this paper briefly introduces the theories related to the definition and development of digital inclusive finance as well as the theories about consumption expenditure and summarizes the relevant impact channels by combing the relevant literature on digital inclusive finance,which provides a certain theoretical foundation for this paper.Secondly,we collected annual data on digital inclusive finance index,urban residents’ disposable income and consumption expenditure,and rural residents’ disposable income and consumption expenditure in Shanxi Province from 2011 to 2020,and constructed a VAR model to scientifically analyze the relationship between digital inclusive finance and urban and rural residents’ consumption expenditure in Shanxi Province.Through the analysis,we found that: first,the impact of digital inclusive finance on the consumption expenditure of urban residents in Shanxi Province through the development of digital inclusive finance not only has a positive effect,but also brings some negative effects;second,digital inclusive finance has a positive effect on the consumption expenditure of rural residents in Shanxi Province;third,the comparison of the impact on urban residents and rural residents shows that the impact of digital inclusive finance on the consumption expenditure of rural residents in Shanxi Province is stronger and the contribution is higher.Finally,based on the analysis of the empirical results,a conclusion summary is made and targeted suggestions are given for reference,in the expectation of enhancing the level of consumption expenditure of urban and rural residents,narrowing the gap between urban and rural consumption expenditure,and promoting healthy and stable economic development.
