Research On The Business Model Of S Company’s Bulk Commodity E-commerce Platform

Bulk commodity e-commerce has emerged as a novel spot trading model,witnessing speedy growth with an expanding range of traded products since its establishment.Its significance in promoting the modernization of circulation and fostering circulation innovation has been highly recognized.In the context of the Chinese economy’s rapid development,specifically the acceleration of the urbanization and marketization process,the surge in trading enterprises has generated a tremendous demand for bulk commodity markets.Consequently,the number of bulk commodity e-commerce platforms has seen a staggering increase.Especially with the advent of big data,the diversified business model that focuses on self-operated and matchmaking transactions,and offers additional services such as logistics and warehousing,finance,and data mining,has become the mainstream business model of bulk commodity e-commerce platforms.S Company is a prominent bulk commodity e-commerce platform operator backed by a well-known state-owned enterprise in Shandong province.Its previous business model relied heavily on self-operated and matchmaking transactions,supplemented by basic logistics and distribution services.However,this model no longer aligns with the development trend of the industry.Therefore,it is vital for Company S to explore how to leverage its existing resource advantages,draw on the advanced business models of industry leaders,and analyze its own internal problems to establish a modern and diversified business model that suits its unique situation.Such efforts will contribute significantly to S Company’s healthy and sustainable development.Based on the research and analysis of platform economy and supply chain finance theory,this thesis used policy theory analysis and case analysis to study and analyze the current operation status of domestic and foreign bulk commodity e-commerce platforms,and absorb the excellent domestic peer platform business model experience.Additionally,by using the point-to-face method,this thesis conducted a comprehensive analysis of the S platform’s profit model and functional modules and evaluated the S platform’s operating environment to determine future development and improvement directions.That is,the introduction of production and processing enterprises,logistics enterprises,and warehousing enterprises,and building a full industry trade closed-loop ecosystem.The study also proposed utilizing new-generation information technologies,including big data,cloud computing,and machine learning,to provide digital solutions for bulk commodity trade.By doing so,the S platform can create an integrated business system that encompasses the industrial chain,supply chain,and capital to ensure rapid and healthy development.
