Research On The Influence Of Supplier Concentration Degree On Enterprise Supply Chain Security Level

The reports of the 19 th and 20 th National Congresses of the Communist Party of China clearly stated that we should build stable and secure industrial and supply chains,adapt to the new development pattern,and promote high-quality development.Safe and reliable supply chain is an important basis for the normal operation of national economy,and also an important support for enterprises to gain advantages in market competition under great changes.Enterprises dependent on the supply chain will also be affected by other entities in the supply chain.Suppliers,as one of the core components of the supply chain,have a crucial impact on the security level of the supply chain.In order to maximize the security level of the supply chain,it is necessary to establish a good cooperative relationship with suppliers.Some scholars have studied supplier concentration degree from various perspectives,but there are few researches on the influence of supplier concentration degree on supply chain security,and most of them are qualitative researches on supply chain security.Therefore,the influence of supplier concentration degree on supply chain security is worth further study.Based on the panel data of 533 A-share manufacturing enterprises in China from 2015 to2021,this thesis first establishes an index to measure supply chain security by entropy weight method,studies the relationship and influence mechanism between supplier concentration and supply chain security,and considers the mediating effect of technological innovation input and the moderating effect of market power.Finally,the influence of supplier concentration degree on supply chain security under different heterogeneous groups is discussed.The results show that:(1)Supplier concentration degree has an inverted U-shaped relationship with supply chain security and there is a threshold effect;(2)Medium and long term technological innovation investment can increase the security level of supply chain;(3)Market power positively and negatively regulates supplier concentration and medium-and long-term technological innovation on supply chain security;(4)Enterprises with high asset-light operation level,commercial credit financing and internal control are more suitable to maintain a higher level of supplier concentration;(5)The influence of supplier concentration and technological innovation input on supply chain security of emerging enterprises is more significant than that of traditional manufacturing industry.Therefore,the following three aspects of management enlightenment are proposed:(1)enterprises should maintain the supplier concentration at an appropriate level in line with their own development status;(2)Enterprises with rising market power should pay more attention to medium-and long-term technological innovation investment;(3)Enterprise credit and internal management can greatly affect the security level of the supply chain.Enterprises with high supplier concentration should also improve the level of asset-light operation.
