Research On The Impact Of Digital Economy On Urban-Rural Integration Development

At present,the breadth and depth of the integration of digital economy with economic,social and other fields between urban and rural areas are constantly expanding.However,the current agricultural development is still faced with a series of problems such as short industrial chain,low yield,and single flow of factors.As a new growth driver,digital economy,with data as the factor and technology as the driving force,has given rise to new forms of business in the integrated development of urban and rural industries,helped the precise allocation of traditional factors between urban and rural areas,and effectively improved governance at the grassroots level.Therefore,grasping the opportunity of the era of information revolution,studying the impact of digital economy on urban-rural integration,and relying on the dividend of digital economy to break urban-rural dual barriers and empower urban-rural integration to promote rural revitalization are important topics that need to be explored in the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country.This paper takes 287 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2020 as research samples to analyze the impact of digital economy on urban-rural integration.Firstly,this paper expounds the background of digital economy and urban-rural integration,as well as the research theme and significance,determines the research object and content,and selects appropriate research methods.Secondly,this paper defines the connotation and relevant theoretical basis of digital economy and urban-rural integration,sorts out the relationship between the two,and explores the mechanism of digital economy affecting urban-rural integration.Thirdly,this paper measures the digital economy and urban-rural integration,and analyzes their spatio-temporal characteristics.On this basis,an appropriate econometric model is selected to conduct a quantitative test on the direct and indirect paths of digital economy affecting urban-rural integration,and to clarify the indirect paths of digital economy affecting urban-rural integration through urban-rural income gap and industrial structure.Finally,this paper summarizes the research conclusions and puts forward corresponding policy suggestions.The results show that: first,the level of digital economy and urban-rural integration is increasing.The overall change trend of East,central,west and northeast regions is consistent with that of the whole country,and there is a relative gap in the development of sub-regions.The high value areas of digital economy and urban-rural integration all cover the north,Shanghai,Guangzhou and Shenzhen.There is still a lot of room for improvement of digital economy and urban-rural integration in many cities in the west and northeast.Second,digital economy plays a significant positive role in the integrated development of urban and rural areas.The results show that digital economy has the largest direct effect on urban-rural ecological integration,followed by urban-rural spatial integration and the lowest urban-rural human integration.According to the heterogeneity test of sub-regional and sub-city size,digital economy can directly promote the development of urban and rural integration in the east,central,west and northeast regions and the five types of city size.Third,digital economy has significant spatial spillover effect.In the whole sample,digital economy can promote the development level of urban-rural integration in neighboring areas through spatial spillover effect.After the dimensional test of urban-rural integration,it is concluded that the digital economy has obvious positive effect on urban-rural economic,social and ecological integration,while has negative effect on urban-rural human and space integration.According to the heterogeneity test of the size of different regions and cities,the spatial spillover effect of digital economy in the eastern region is obvious,and the spatial spillover effect in the central and western region is obvious.For small cities and megacities,digital economy can improve the urban-rural integration development level of neighboring regions through spatial spillover effect,while the spatial spillover effect of medium,large and megacities is significant.Fourth,digital economy has intermediary and threshold effect in promoting the integrated development of urban and rural areas.Digital economy can indirectly improve the level of urban-rural integrated development by narrowing the urban-rural income gap and optimizing the industrial structure.Digital economy and real per capita GDP have threshold effect in the process of promoting urban-rural integrated development.Each stage of the threshold range of digital economy will promote the integration of urban and rural development,and the lower the level of digital economy,the faster the development of digital economy to improve the integration of urban and rural development.When the real per capita GDP is greater than 5.405,the digital economy has a promoting effect on urban-rural integration,and with the increase of its threshold interval,the digital economy has a stronger promoting effect on urban-rural integration.
