Abstract/Summary:
Since the reform and opening up,China’s foreign trade has developed rapidly and its share in the global trading system has continued to expand.However,China’s export products are still concentrated in the middle and lower reaches of the industrial chain.At present,developed countries that invest in China due to international politics and production costs are planning to gradually transfer the industrial chain transfer,which undoubtedly has a serious impact on China’s foreign trade development.China’s foreign trade is facing internal and external difficulties,and how to break through this dilemma and successfully complete industrial upgrading has become an urgent issue.The article notes that the rapid development of China’s economy in recent years is inseparable from the application of digital technology,and also observes that the scale effect brought by industrial clusters can enhance regional industrial competitiveness.Based on this,this article proposes an idea that combining the development of the digital economy with local industrial agglomeration may alleviate China’s current foreign trade difficulties.With such an assumption,this article begins to explore.This article aims to explore the impact of the collaborative development of the digital economy and industrial agglomeration on the complexity of export technology.Firstly,this article reviews the literature related to the digital economy,industrial agglomeration,and complexity of export technology.Based on previous literature,it proposes a specific impact mechanism of the coordinated development of the digital economy and industrial agglomeration on the complexity of export technology.Secondly,the article calculates and analyzes variables such as the digital economy,industrial agglomeration,and export technology complexity based on data from China National Research Network,customs,and local statistical yearbooks.Finally,with the help of empirical analysis,this paper takes the provincial panel data of China from2011 to 2020 as the sample,uses panel data for regression analysis,and tests the heterogeneity of the data.When exploring the mechanism of the coordinated development of digital economy and industrial agglomeration that has an impact on the complexity of export technology,this paper analyzes the mesomeric effect.In order to enhance the reliability of the above empirical results,the paper also conducted a robustness test at the end of the empirical analysis.Through empirical research,it has been found that the coordinated development of the digital economy and industrial agglomeration has a significant promoting effect on the complexity of export technology.Financial development,openness,and foreign direct investment also have a certain promoting effect on the complexity of export technology.In addition,this article found through heterogeneity testing that this impact has heterogeneity in the eastern,central,and western regions.Specifically,the coordinated development of the digital economy and industrial agglomeration has a significant promoting effect on the complexity of export technology in the eastern region,which is not significant in the central region and is significantly negative in the western region.Finally,in the mechanism analysis,the paper finds that technological innovation acts as a mediating variable in the impact of coordinated development on export technological complexity through the analysis of mesomeric effect.This research conclusion is of great significance for a deeper understanding of the impact of digital economy and industrial agglomeration on the increasing complexity of China’s export technology.
