At present,the world’s new generation of information technologies such as big data,cloud computing,the Internet of Things,artificial intelligence and blockchains are accelerating innovation,prompting countries to focus on a new round of technological innovation and industrial transformation in the field of industrial digital transformation.In order to realize the digital transformation and upgrading of industries and enhance their international status,countries have successively put forward the development strategies of digital economy such as "industrial Internet,Industry 4.0".The digital transformation of traditional industries has become a "new engine" for high-quality economic development.Since China’s entry into WTO,with its unique advantages in labor resources,it has participated in the division of global value chain with low added value and extensive production mode,which has achieved the rapid growth of export volume and successfully realized the leapfrog development of foreign trade.However,with the disappearance of China’s demographic dividend,the rising cost of factors,the intensifying competition among similar developing countries,and the continuous advancement of the "re-industrialization" process of developed countries,China’s export trade is faced with the severe challenge of "internal crowding and external pressure".In this context,it is urgent to transform the profit model of export products,improve the technical complexity of export products,enhance the added value of export products,and obtain new driving forces and new advantages of export growth.As an important branch of digital economy,industrial digitization takes digital technology and data empowerment as the main line and data as the key factor to improve the efficiency of cross-border export trade and provide technological innovation drive for the improvement of technological complexity of export products.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the influence and mechanism of industrial digitization on the technical complexity of export,improve the industrial digitization level of export enterprises,explore the path of digital transformation of export enterprises,so as to enhance the technical complexity of export products of Chinese foreign trade enterprises,improve the added value of products,and complete the transformation of the growth mode of export enterprises.This thesis takes the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2013 to 2020(excluding Tibet,Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan,where datum are seriously missing)as the analysis object,explores the influence of industrial digitization on the technological complexity of export,and further analyzes the mechanism.The first part,through literature review,clarifies the research status and mechanism of the impact of industrial digitization on the technological complexity of export products.The second part,the construction of industrial digitization index.Starting with 14 specific indicators from four dimensions of digital talent,industrial digitization investment,industrial digitization income and digital infrastructure,the entropy method is used to calculate and obtain the industrial digitization index of each year in each province.The third part,calculate the technical complexity of export of each province.Based on the export data of 22 categories of products with the 2-digit code of customs HS,combined with the per capita GDP level of each province,the export technical complexity of each province was calculated.The fourth part analyzes the influence of the industrial digitization level of foreign trade enterprises on the technical complexity of export products.The specific technical route of this paper is as follows: First,the bidirectional fixed effect model is used to test the industrial digitization level and the export technology complexity,and the correlation between the two is determined.The SGMM method is used to test the robustness of the above results,and the influence of the industrial digitization level in different regions on the export technology complexity is investigated from the perspective of regional heterogeneity.Secondly,based on the threshold regression model,from the three perspectives of industrial structure upgrading,environmental regulation and technological innovation,the paper verifies whether industrial digitization has nonlinear influence on export technological complexity.Finally,from the perspective of spatial correlation,the paper makes an empirical analysis of the spatial spillover effect of industrial digitization,and uses the dynamic spatial econometric model to test the dynamic changes of the direct and indirect spatial spillover effects.The results show that industrial digitization has a significant promoting effect on the improvement of export technological complexity,and the two factors have a nonlinear effect according to the changes of industrial structure upgrading,environmental regulation and technological innovation.In addition,industrial digitization and export technology complexity have significant spatial characteristics of "high-high" agglomeration and "low-low" agglomeration;The improvement of regional export technology complexity mainly comes from the development of local industry digitization.The spillover of industrial digitization in neighboring provinces will inhibit the improvement of regional export technology complexity.The estimation results of dynamic space model are similar to those of static space test,and the short-term effect is more obvious.Finally,the SGMM and heterogeneity analyses show that the overall regression results are robust.Among the four components of industrial digitization,digitization input and digitization income play a major role in improving the technical complexity of export,and digitization income has the most significant promoting role.Industrial digitization in the eastern region significantly inhibited the improvement of export technical complexity,while the research conclusion in the central region was completely opposite,and the promotion effect in the western region was not significant.Therefore,in terms of policy allocation,the government should improve the construction of digital infrastructure and optimize the environment for industrial digital development.According to local conditions,precise policies,according to the characteristics of different regions to develop exclusive export technology complexity improvement strategies;Allocate effective resources properly.For export oriented enterprises,they should fully realize that the technical complexity of export products will affect their future development,and try digital transformation and upgrading to improve the added value of export products and create greater profit space.
