| In recent years, emerging digital technologies, represented by artificial intelligence and big data, have gradually penetrated various industries from R&D and manufacturing to terminal consumption, marking a new chapter in digital transformation. As a new economic form, the digital economy has gradually become the most potential economic growth point focused internationally. In the process of the layout and construction of the "the Belt and Road",the trend of digital economy promoting the "the Belt and Road" economic and trade cooperation is becoming increasingly significant, and the efficient allocation of digital resources and the effect of innovation agglomeration are gradually taking shape. Therefore, exploring the relationship between the digital economy and export trade will help to position the new development strategy, enable the economic and trade development of the "the Belt and Road",and promote China’s export trade status. This paper first combs the existing research on export trade under the background of digital economy, the "the Belt and Road" and the impact of digital economy on export trade, and expounds the impact mechanism of digital economy on export trade from three dimensions of trade cost, technological progress and transaction scope based on the theoretical basis.Secondly, based on the trade profile, trade structure, trade methods and trade challenges, this paper expounds the current situation of China’s export trade development in the context of the "the Belt and Road".Subsequently,it elaborates the current situation of China’s digital economy development from four aspects: connotation characteristics, development scale, policy layout, and risk challenges, and establishes a multi-dimensional comprehensive evaluation system for the level of digital economy. It uses the entropy weight method to measure the level of digital economy in 31 provinces and cities in China. The measurement results reflect significant differences in the development of digital economy in various regions. Finally, the empirical part uses the panel data of China’s provincial export trade from 2013 to 2020,and uses the fixed effect model to analyze the impact effect and mechanism of the digital economy on the export trade of countries along the "the Belt and Road".In order to ensure the accuracy of the estimation results, the robustness test is carried out.The research results show that China’s export trade with countries along the line is mainly concentrated in East Asia, while the provincial level is concentrated in eastern China. The scale of China’s digital economy has steadily expanded, and the development level in the eastern region is relatively high, with regional differences. The development of digital economy has significantly promoted the export trade between China and the countries along the "the Belt and Road",mainly by saving trade costs, boosting technology upgrading and expanding the scope of transactions. Finally, this paper puts forward corresponding policy recommendations based on the research results: First, strengthen the infrastructure construction of the digital economy along the line.China should work with countries along the "the Belt and Road" to strengthen the upgrading of facilities and provide hardware support for the development of the digital economy;Second, stimulate the vitality of digital technology innovation along the line from multiple perspectives, build a digital economy cooperation and research and development platform for countries along the "the Belt and Road",and provide strong momentum for economic and trade development;Third, improve laws and regulations on the development of digital economy along the line, create a fair and safe trade and business environment, and ensure the prosperity and development of export trade along the line.Fourth, build a digital economic security community along the Belt and Road, and help the development of export trade along the Belt and Road achieve new results. |
