Research On The Quality Evaluation Of Listed Companies' Social Responsibility Information Disclosure Based On Text Minin

Since the reform and opening up,China’s economy has experienced a spectacular upswing.However,while development is occurring,environmental pollution,a lack of resources,and other phenomena continue to exist,making it urgent to change the industrial structure and raise the standard of economic growth.According to the CPC’s20 th National Congress,our economy is in a critical period from high speed growing period to high quality development period.Listed companies now play a significant role in the economy’s growth and are expected to uphold the necessary social obligations in their daily operations.Corporate social responsibility,not only for their own development to win a good environment,but also improve social organizations,government agencies to the company’s development support and guidance,and enhance their overall strength.The contents of Corporate Social Responsibility announced by a listed enterprise shall include an overview of the investment and performance in the company’s development policies,business strategies,protection of the rights and interests of stakeholders,utilisation of resources,public welfare and environmental sustainable development,etc,so as to show the company’s sustainable development capacity and reduce information barrier with the public.Currently,the social responsibility information disclosure mechanism established by the supervisory department is not perfect,and there are still some shortcomings in the area of standardization and quality evaluation.Meanwhile,despite the increase in the number of listed companies that disclose CSR information,there are still some problems such as lack of content,strong subjectivity,and low innovation.Therefore,it is necessary to analyze comprehensively the information disclosure quality of CSR and set up a scientific and sound quality assessment system.This will not only help the listed companies to enhance their social responsibility behavior,but also an effective support for high quality development of economic efficiency,which is in accordance with the demands of the times.In this paper,we study the social responsibility reports published by the listed companies from 2017 to 2021.Firstly,the author makes reference to the related documents,defines the meaning of CSR,and sums up the domestic and international studies about CSR.Second,in accordance with scientific,systematic and operational principles,drawing on previous academic research and a quality evaluation system developed by an authoritative bodies,to build a CSR disclosure quality assessment system,which includes integrity,materiality,readability,balance,innovation and reliability,the text of a social responsibility report is quantified using text mining technology,and the paper makes a comparative study on the quality of CSR information disclosure of our listed companies by Entropy weight-Topsis.The study finds that,first,the integrity and innovation of our listed companies’ information disclosure are low;second,there is little negative information disclosure and the report is rarely reviewed by a third party;third,there was a significant improvement in the quality of CSR information disclosure by listed companies over time.At last,this paper aims at the development strategy of our country,the following recommendations are made: first,it is necessary for enterprises to enhance the quality of CSR information disclosure through the combination of indicator assessment system;second,it is necessary for supervisors to improve the standards of disclosure of social responsibility,improve the evaluation system and strengthen supervision;third,strengthen the public’s information disclosure quality evaluation education,and strengthen the information identification ability of stakeholders.
