| In recent years,with the wide attention of scholars on employee engagement,research on improving employee engagement has become a pressing issue for current theoretical research and management practice.A large body of empirical evidence has shown that employee engagement has a significant impact on a company’s business performance.This article takes the sanitation workers under the Y Municipal Company in Foshan City as the research object,where low enthusiasm,absenteeism,lack of ownership spirit,counterproductive behavior,and increasing turnover rate have been prevalent in recent years,resulting in a decrease in service quality,an increase in production costs,vehicle and equipment maintenance costs,a rise in work accident rates,and low efficiency of human resources,which seriously hinders the company’s development.Therefore,improving the employee engagement of frontline sanitation workers is an urgent and critical issue for the Y Municipal Company’s development process.Based on the internationally recognized employee engagement scale and its influencing factors,a survey questionnaire was designed and administered to 629 sanitation workers in Y Municipal Company.Through statistical analysis,the results showed that benefits,career development opportunities,immediate supervisors,salary,performance evaluation,and training and development were key factors influencing employee engagement.Additionally,by combining interview results,the causes of low employee engagement were further analyzed in-depth,leading to the proposal of five measures,including building a fair and reasonable salary and welfare system,changing the management style of front-line managers,optimizing performance evaluation,providing career development channels,and improving the skills training system,in order to effectively enhance the engagement of sanitation workers and promote the Y Municipal Company’s goal of high-quality development. |
