The Effect Of Supply Chain Integration On Cost Stickiness

In recent years,the total cost of Chinese enterprises has continued to rise,and a more serious phenomenon of high costs has emerged.In order to effectively alleviate the difficulties of enterprises in the real economy and boost their transformation and upgrading,the State Council issued the Work Plan for Reducing Enterprise Costs in the Real Economy in 2016,aiming to reduce the comprehensive costs of enterprises and improve their profitability.And cost stickiness as an important manifestation of the cost nature is a key factor in the business decision,and its existence reduces the accuracy of enterprise surplus forecast and the utilization rate of resources.As an important node in the actual operation of the supply chain,enterprises cooperate closely with upstream and downstream enterprises,and their cost decisions are influenced by the information exchange and business relationship between enterprises.This paper provides an innovative theoretical basis for enterprise cost management.Accordingly,this paper analyzes the hypothesis and tests the effect of supply chain integration on the cost stickiness of enterprises by taking the data of A-share manufacturing companies listed in Shanghai and Shenzhen cities from 2014 to 2020 as the research sample.The empirical results show that supply chain integration can effectively reduce the cost stickiness of enterprises,i.e.,strengthening supply chain integration broadens the platform for sharing enterprise information resources,weakens managers’ optimistic expectations,and improves the accuracy of surplus forecasting,thus reducing the cost stickiness of enterprises;secondly,the weakening effect of supply chain integration on cost stickiness is more significant in non-state-owned enterprises,while there is no significant correlation in state-owned enterprises;using the internal control management of enterprises Finally,external media coverage significantly strengthens the effect of supply chain integration on cost stickiness through both "monitoring mechanism" and "reputation mechanism".Finally,external media coverage significantly strengthens the inhibitory effect of supply chain integration on cost stickiness through the "monitoring mechanism" and "reputation mechanism".The findings of this paper confirm the positive effect of supply chain integration on cost stickiness,and incorporate supply chain integration as an important corporate governance tool into the analysis framework of cost stickiness dynamics,which can provide a reference for enterprises’ resource allocation and cost management decisions.
