| The agglomeration of production factors directly determines the economic development potential and core competitiveness of regions.Under the current new situation,to solve the problem of differences in regional economic development,we should focus on urban agglomeration as a breakthrough point, promote the reasonable and efficient agglomeration of various factors, and form a regional economic layout with complementary advantages and high-quality development. From the geographical location and economic strength of Chengdu-Chongqing,Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta, these three urban agglomerations play an important strategic role in promoting China’s economic development. Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to analyze the economic development characteristics of different urban agglomerations, test the influence of factor agglomeration on regional economic development, investigate the relationship between factors in the process of economic growth, and formulate scientific and reasonable policy suggestions to narrow the differences of regional economic development.Taking the three major urban agglomerations as the research scope, this thesis carries out corresponding research and discussion on the influence of factor agglomeration on regional economic development.Firstly, this thesis reviews relevant research status and discusses the influence mechanism of factor agglomeration on regional economic development and the mechanism of factor substitution effect and complementary effect.Secondly, combined with urban network structure correlation graph, kernel density estimation method, absolute σ convergence analysis method to explore the economic development characteristics of urban agglomerations. The agglomeration indexes of labor, technology and capital were established to describe the agglomeration degree of urban agglomeration. Then, based on the panel data of 51 cities in the three major urban agglomerations from 2010 to 2019,the study variables were determined, and the nested matrix of spatial economic geography was established. The global and local Moreland indexes were calculated to test the spatial correlation of the economic development of the three major urban agglomerations. Finally, through LM,Hausman,LR,Wald and other series of tests, the spatial Dubin model with bidirectional fixed effect is selected, and the effect decomposition of regression results is discussed based on the operation principle of partial differentiation. The main research results are as follows.(1)In recent years,Chengdu-Chongqing economic development is rapid, the Yangtze River Delta economic development remains stable, the Pearl River Delta per capita GDP growth rate decreased year by year. The three urban agglomerations all show obvious characteristics of economic network structure, and the actual economic connection among cities in the Pearl River Delta is the closest. The polarization phenomenon of ChengduChongqing and Yangtze River Delta is gradually weakened, and the economic development of the three urban agglomerations shows a convergence trend. The distribution and change of factor agglomeration in urban agglomerations are different.(2)The regional economic development of the three urban agglomerations showed a significant and stable spatial autocorrelation.Chengdu-Chongqing was negatively correlated with L-H agglomeration, while the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta were positively correlated with H-H agglomeration and L-L agglomeration. The three major urban agglomerations all have significant spatial dependence on regional economic development. The Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta urban agglomerations show negative spatial dependence, while the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomerations show positive spatial dependence.(3)Factor agglomeration has significant local differential influence on regional economic development. The labor force agglomeration produces positive local effect and negative spillover effect in the Yangtze River Delta and negative local effect in the Pearl River Delta. The local effect of technology agglomeration in Chengdu-Chongqing is negative, and the spillover effect in Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta is positive.Capital agglomeration has positive local effect and negative spillover effect in ChengduChongqing and Yangtze River Delta, and has significant positive spillover effect in Pearl River Delta. In addition, the positive local effect of labor and technology complementarity exists in Chengdu-Chongqing and Pearl River Delta, while the negative spillover effect of labor and technology substitution exists in Yangtze River Delta. The substitution effect of labor and capital in the three urban agglomerations inhibits local economic growth to varying degrees, and there is also a part of the positive spillover effect of labor and capital complementation in Chengdu-Chongqing.The technology and capital in the Yangtze River Delta have complementary positive spillover effect, while the technology and capital in the Pearl River Delta have negative spillover effect.Based on the above research conclusions, this thesis puts forward the following policy recommendations:(1)Strengthen urban economic correlation and construct reasonable economic network structure.(2)Stimulate the economic vitality of less developed cities and narrow the economic development gap between cities.(3)Promote high-end clustering of regional factors and improve the allocation efficiency of production factors.(4)Give full play to the complementary effect of factors and form a regional economic pattern of high-quality development. |
