| Under the wave of Internet technology,new information technologies such as big data and AI artificial intelligence are reshaping the banking business system and driving banks to undergo digital transformation.However,the problems of information silos,duplicated construction and wasted resources for digital transformation are prominent,and the middle platform strategy was born.As a set of enterprise-level IT technology framework and capability reuse management concept,middle platform requires banks to make adjustments at the levels of architecture,asset reuse,and business operation.In view of this,it is urgent to use the middle platform strategy to break the traditional chimneybased system and precipitate common resources and capabilities,so as to reduce business operation costs and improve customer response rate.Therefore,it is necessary to discuss the digital transformation of banks based on the perspective of the middle platform.This thesis first analyzes the digital transformation process of Bank A through a case study based on the perspective of middle platform strategy;and then explores the realization mechanism of middle platform strategy in the digital transformation process of Bank A through empirical analysis.The specific research is as follows: firstly,the current status of digital transformation in the banking industry and the three fundamental theories of organizational agility,availability,and modularity on which the corporate middle platform strategy relies are reviewed through literature;secondly,the internal information obtained through combing the annual reports of Bank A in the past eight years since 2015 and combining with field visits,especially in-depth interviews,provides a comprehensive and systematic overview of the digital transformation of Bank A,which has gone through The thesis then focuses on analyzing the digital transformation process of Bank A by applying the concept of middle platform strategy and its theory,including the strategic background of transformation,objectives and principles,ideas and methods,middle platform structure,and the effectiveness of middle platform strategy implementation,etc.Finally,based on the questionnaire survey,the empirical analysis verifies the Finally,based on the questionnaire survey,we verified the mechanism of the realization of the middle platform strategy through empirical analysis.Based on the above research,this thesis draws the following two conclusions: First,for banks,digital transformation is a systematic reorganization,which includes transformational changes in organizational structure,mechanism process,business model,IT system,and personnel capabilities;It plays an important enabling role in the digital transformation of banks,including reducing operating costs,improving customer satisfaction,optimizing business processes,and realizing digital innovation.At the end of this thesis,three suggestions are put forward based on the research conclusions: one is to speed up the construction of the top-level design of digital transformation,the other is to use the middle platform to develop new digital formats,and the third is to grasp the strategic opportunities under the prudential supervision of financial technology.This study provides corresponding suggestions for further deepening the digital transformation of Bank A from the perspective of middle-platform strategy. |
