| Since the reform and opening up,China’s foreign trade has developed rapidly and has become the world’s largest trading country.Foreign trade has become an important growth point for our country’s economic growth and upgrading. At the same time, with the rapid improvement of informatization, high and new technologies like big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence have become an important support for the digital integration of the real economy. Therefore, information infrastructure will become a new driving force for the development of digital China, which plays an important role in digital transformation and supply-side structural reform.Based on this, exploring the impact of information infrastructure construction on the development of international trade is of great significance in the process of high-quality development of our economy.Through the study of relevant articles and theoretical analysis, this paper summarizes the current academic research on the relationship between information infrastructure construction and international trade, and summarizes its influence mechanism through theoretical analysis. At the same time, this paper also analyzes the development status of China’s overall and regional information infrastructure and foreign trade,on this basis, the panel data of 31 provinces in China(except Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan)from 2005 to 2019 is selected to construct an information infrastructure construction index and analyze the impact of information infrastructure construction on international trade. In addition, the mediating effect model is used to test the effects of economic growth, technological innovation and human capital accumulation, and summarize their impact mechanisms.Through the heterogeneity test, compare the impact of information infrastructure on foreign trade in varying regions and product categories.Through empirical research, this paper concludes that(1)the construction of information infrastructure plays a role in promoting China’s foreign trade;(2)There are regional differences in the role of information infrastructure construction in promoting China’s foreign trade, with the eastern region being the most significant;(3)The role of information infrastructure construction in promoting international trade has product heterogeneity, and the impact on the import and export trade of consumer goods is of the most significant;(4)Information infrastructure construction has a positive impact on international trade by promoting regional economic growth, technological innovation and human capital accumulation.Based on the above empirical analysis, this paper puts forward the following targeted suggestions: first,do a good job in toplevel design and strengthen the construction of information infrastructure;Second, pay attention to the imbalance of regional development and narrow the differences in information infrastructure construction between regions;Third, improve product quality and optimize China’s trade structure;Fourth, optimize the development environment and actively promote the role of information infrastructure construction in promoting international trade. |
