| The report of the Party’s 20 th National Congress mentions the need for enterprises ’high-quality development.In addition,various resource endowments,especially human resources,are of great importance.Meanwhile,senior management teams also play a non-negligible role in the high-quality development of enterprises.Therefore,in order to fully mobilize the enthusiasm of senior executives,enterprises will implement salary system and other incentive measure because the previous studies also show that the pay gap has a great impact on the behavior of senior executives in the incentive system.In this case,the researches on the impact of executive team pay gap on the high-quality development of enterprises and how the overseas background of senior executives affects this path become even necessary and helpful to provide practical guidance for the high-quality development of enterprises.First of all,based on the four theories,this paper proposes a research hypothesis on the basis of literature research and theoretical analysis.Secondly,relevant conclusions are drawn by examining the data of 1115 GEM listed companies and 4707 observation samples from2010 to 2019.Besides,relevant extension conclusions are drawn through a difference analysis of the property rights and regions.The research conclusions of this paper are as follows: First,the increase of executive team salary gap will significantly promote the high-quality development of enterprises.Second,the higher the proportion of senior executives with overseas study and work experience is,the greater role the pay gap of top management team plays in promoting the high-quality development of enterprises.Third,in non-state-owned enterprises and enterprises in the eastern region,the pay gap of senior management teams is more conducive to the high-quality development of enterprises,and the higher the proportion of senior management with overseas background in the senior management team is,the more impact the pay gap has on the high-quality development of enterprises.The conclusion of this paper verifies that the personal characteristics of senior executives can have an impact on the production and operation of enterprises.Overseas background,as an intangible resource,indirectly affects the risk selection and decision-making behavior of senior executives,which further strengthens the role of the pay gap of senior executives on the high-quality development of enterprises.In addition,the study of this paper provides new thinking for whether enterprises should hire executives with overseas background and the implementation of the government’s talent recruitment policy in the future. |
