On Several Philosophical Problem Of Virtual Technology

Virtual technology is a brand-new and synthetical information technology that rose on later stage of the 20th century. At present, virtual technology are permeating into every field of human society such as science, economy, politics, and culture day by day, and have raised a stream of virtual tides, which has great influence on the social life of human. The rise of digital technology which is characterized by virtual technology and network technology is not only a technology innovation as a tool but also can make people's existent mode, life style, cognitive style, thinking way and values change. In a sense, the technology has changed our world and ourselves too, that is say "those things which are created by us are bring up ourselves at the same time". Philosophy, as"quintessence of spirit of the time"should not and cannot ignore virtual technology which as a brand new technology is causing great change, because the vitality of philosophy comes from positive response to era to a great extent. Therefore, we will not only admit it with great zealousness, but also notice the technology's deeper cultural meaning, and reflect the digital technology represented by virtual technology from the standing of philosophy.At first, the thesis summary the rough situation of virtual technology, which including its historical background, practical conditions, development course, purpose, characteristic, type, application and prospect of virtual technology etc.On the basis, we have investigated the impetus to the development of " media theory " of virtual technology in terms of technological philosophy, and summarized the universal laws and characteristics of the contemporary information technology; secondly, we have concluded how virtual technology promote development of the relation of human– machine; lastly, we discussed the limit of virtual technology and computer, that is to say what virtual technology and computer can do or can not do.About the influence caused by virtual technology on traditional metaphysics, the thesis analyzed the concept of"Virtual Reality"from semantics and etymology view, and traced back the philosophy origin of the virtual reality. Starting from the point, the thesis has clarified several misunderstanding in traditional philosophy concepts such as possible, true, realistic, concrete, cause and effect etc. In the discussion of virtual and tangible ontology, we analyzed and discussed the formation of virtual reality and the way of existing, the relation of virtual world and actual world, the uniqueness of virtual space and the philosophical essence of virtual reality, etc.On the virtual technology's function and influence on epistemology, firstly, some important characters of Virtual technology as a new understanding technology have been analyzed in the thesis. Secondly, it has been discussed the fact that virtual technology result in virtualization of cognitive subject, cognitive objecting, cognitive space and cognitive resonance which bring the change of the epistemology. It is the change that virtual technology gives birth to a great influence on the human's cognitive activities. First of all, virtual technology has caused obvious change of cognitive relation between subject and object, which includes the change of interaction between subject and object, digitization of cognitive resonance and scene of cognitive model, etc. secondly, virtual technology has improved the subject's cognitive ability and level: the ability of esthesia of the subject has been strengthened, the change of the cognitive structure and the way to obtain information of the subject has been caused and the regulation and control ability of the subject has been improved by virtual technology. Initiative and creativity has been highlighted in the cognitive activity. Lastly, virtual technology has expanded subject's cognitive field, that is to say it has expanded the cognitive space of the subject, and enriched the cognitive source of the subjectThe appearance of virtual technology leads to great changes of mankind's practices. Virtual practice results in mankind practice activity virtualization incessantly. The appearance of virtual technology made mankind from the ideaistic virtualization to the practical virtualization, i.e. virtual practice. The appearance of Virtual Practice is confirmation and development of the materialism of practice of Marx. Virtual practice is a new kind perceptive activity based on human - machine perception. Virtual practice has characters of objectivity, virtuality, experience, transcendency, etc. The appearance of virtual practice brings out a great change of mankind's practice. That is to say, virtual practice turns from a single model of realistic practice into a two-way model by which virtual practice and realistic practice launches at the same time. Since then, the virtual and realistic practice model has existed in the mankind practices at the same time. Mankind's practice level and ability has been great improved and the initiative and creativity of subject has been got unprecedented upgraded.Virtual technology has important value of methodology as a new kind of cognitive technology. The appearance of virtual technology has caused the great change of the simulation method. And it offers a kind of strong, comprehensive model for human cognitive activity——virtual reality model. Virtual technology and virtual reality offers a brand-new experiment method——virtual experiment for contemporary science. It has not only revolutionary meanings in the people and physical world's relation, but also has important meanings in the relation between people, and in the relation between people and society.
