With 30 years of development, Block Mu152 in Xinmu oilfiled has entered into the'Three-high'development stage, where the contradictory arising from complicated faults, multiple layers and serious heterogeneities is gradually outstanding, limiting its further development, so to find out an appropriate description method based on Mutou geologic characteristics to meet for its development targets of stabilizing oil production and controlling water cut is critical. In this paper, Block Mu 152 is selected as our study focus. We employ the modern fine reservoir description theory in combination with sedimentary theory to conduct a study on the remaining oil distribution in this block.According to depositional feature and interfaces logging data reflects, Fuyu formation in block Mu 152 is further re-correlated and divided by using the facies controlled cycling isochronal method based on reference section. The original 12 subzones are divided into 16 single sand sections, thus the extension of micro-facies in different sedimentary units are determined. Through the detailed study of sedimentary microfacies in Block Mu 152, 11 sand bodies of different diagenesis are identified, which are respectively sandy braided river bar, meandering river sand body, distributary bar of high tortuosity, distributary bar of low tortuosity, straight distributary bar, subwater distributary bar, inter distributary sand body, internal front sand sheet, external front, front bar and offshore bar. The microstructure study helps us determine its distribution in Fuyu formation. In order to obtain a more reliable data for reservoir simulation, 3D reservoir model is constructed based on facies controlled method, then we made a historical match and prediction on water cut and production degree through numerical simulation to define the remaining oil distribution, later we made a dynamic analysis to deepen the study on remaining oil distribution. Through the abovementioned these studies, a development strategy to prospect the remained oil is mapped out. Good results are observed in block Mu 152 due to its implementation.'Two decline'( comprehensive production decline and natural production decline) is clearly slowed down and formation pressure is increased steadily, and water cut is controlled, so that the balance between oil reserve and production is achieved to realize the aim of'stabilizing oil production and controlling water cut.'.
