| According to tutor Prof. DongGuirong's clinical experience of treating migraine in acupuncture, these clinical and experimental studies have been made to research the effects and mechanisms on acupuncture treatment of migraine with TaiYang(EX-HN5) and FengChi(GE20). Clinical studies observed the effects of short-term and long-term, detected TCD, ET and NO level in plasm, 5-HT level in plasm and platelet before and after treatment. Experimental studies reproduced the rats migraine model by hypodermic injection of nitroglycerin, and detected ET and NO level in plasm, 5-HT level in plasm, platelet and brain tissue at the end of experiment. The results as follows :1. The experimental studies showed that in migraine group, the ET and NO level in plasm, 5-HT level in platelet were significantly higher (P<0.01), and the 5-HT level in plasm and brain tissue were significantly lower (P<0.01) than that in control group.2. The experimental studies showed that needling TaiYang(EX-HN5) and FengChi(GB20) could reduce the migraine rats' ET and NO level in plasm, 5-HT level in platelet (P<0.01), and increase 5-HT level in plasm and brain tissue (P<0.01, P<0.05). There was an obvious cooperation between TaiYang and FengChi. The clinical studies got the same result.3. The clinical studies showed that short and long-term effects in treatment group were separately 87.9% and 81.0%. Both effects were significantly better than that of Nimodipine control group. The effects were no obvious difference among liver-yang , turbid phlegm and blood stasis types in treatment group.4. In treatment group, the patients' cerebral blood flow were improved (P<0.05, P<0.01), with the cerebral blood flow rate slowing down. The improvement on PCA, VA and BA were better than that on ACA and MCA.By adjusting the ET and NO level in plasm, the 5-HT level in nervecenter and blood, to improve cerebral blood flow were the mechanisms of Needling TaiYang(EX-HN5) and FengChi(GB20) to treat migraine.
