As a kind of main risk factor of type diabetes mellitus(DM), micro vascular complication has absorbed more and more interest. Both UKPDS and DCCT have intervention trial upon micro vascular complication. TCM has manifest its advantages in preventing and treating this kind of complications. This research is going to hold comprehensive evaluation of TCM effect of micro vascular complication in type 2 DM by WRSR method. We use add-upon design in the trial. Select patients newly diagnosed DM within half a year. Take diet, sports and oral medicine as basic treatment in order to control serum glucose in the ideal range, then patients of one group take Chinese patent medicine and the other group without to proceed randomized controlled trial(RCT). Indices observed: subjective indices: TCMSEs and their symptoms, tongue and pulse indices; objective indices: FBG and 2hPBG, HbA1C, UAER, eyeground light scope and fluorescence diagram.Research on the change of objective indices indicates, in the group without complication:DM retinopathy, western group progressed by 2.70%, and the chinese-western group progressed by 6.06%, the incident rate of stege 1 had no significant diference between the two groups, P>0.05. As to UAER, western group progressed by 4.17%, and the chinese-western group progressed by 7.14%, the incident rate of stege 3 had no significant diference between the two groups, P>0.05 In the group with complication, Improving rate of DM retinopathy (ITT), western group improved 9 cases, 8.7%, Chinese-western group improved 12 cases, 10.4%, ARR=1.86%, NNT=54. Improving rate of UAER (ITT), western group improved S cases, 11.1%, Chinese-western group improved 12 cases, 14.6%, ARR = 3.94%...
