Subject: To study the relationship among breast calcification, breast cancer and expressing osteopontin.Methods:Using Mammotome systems to cut breast lesions,using pathological , immunohistochemical and RT-PC methods to study the features of breast calcifications and the expression of osteopontin.Results:l. Among 73 cases,Lesions of ten cases were found to be malignant,others were benign. Among fifty-five palpable breast lesions, thirty-one cases were found to be malignant,others were benign. 2. Immunohistochemical staining and in situ hybridization demonstrated that the normal breast tissue did not contain calcifications, nor did it show a reaction with Kossa staining, calcifications can be found in a few breast lesions. Among these maligant lesions, ductal carcinoma are more found than others,among the benign lesions,atypical cytic lobules are more found than others. 3. The OPN mRNA levels in breast cancer tissues were significantly higher than those in adjacent normal tissues and lower than those in metastatic lymph nodes and ductal carcinoma tissues. The expression of OPN mRNA is the highest in metastatic lymph nodes tissues and ductal carcinoma tissues,moderate in malignant breast lesions without calcifications.and lowest in adjacent normal tissues of the metastatic cancer and benign lesions. conclusion:Early diagnosis and treatment can be made by mammogram-guided or ultrasound-guided Mammotome device. Breast calcifications can be found in a few breast lesions. Among these maligant lesions, ductal carcinoma are more found than others.among the benign lesions,atypical cytic lobules are more found than others. Breast calcifications have something to do with the expression of OPN, The expression of OPN mRNA have somethong to do with breast calcifications and the malignancy degree of the breast lesions. |
