From Subjectivity To Intersubjectivity: History Of Western Modern Communication Thought

This paper illustrates the history of communication in the structure of subjectivity and inter-subjectivity. In modern western philosophy,communication faces a paradox that communication is not only the problem need to be taken care of, but also the catholicon to solve the social problems. This paper contends that the communication paradox derives from the defective inter-subjectivity which was coined by Emund Husserl to get rid of the disappointment caused by subjectivity. In traditional Chinese culture, yin & yang presents an alternative perspective to comprehend the essence of communication.
