From the perspective of historical change, The dissertation takes the six domestic animals words in Yi dialects as the main research subject, and explores the relationship of "horse""cattle""sheep" "pig""dog" and "chicken" between Yi dialects and other Sino-Tibetan languages, including homologous and borrow relations. The animal husbandry economy of the Yi nationality had an important position in the production and living at that time, and dialects of Yi language have a lot of words about livestock. The thesis chooses the six domestic animals words ("horse""cattle""sheep" "pig" "dog" and "chicken") in the language of Yi as the research object for the following reasons:1.the livestock words have some differences in Yi dialects, the same as the pronunciation of these words. What kind of relationship in corresponding words in phonetics and semantics of Tibeto-Burman languages even Sino-Tibetan languages is worth being researched.2.The differences between cognates and loanwords in Yi and Chinese languages deserve to be studied. The Yi language absorbed the different historical period Chinese loanwords in the long-term communications with the Han nationality. The loanwords are witnesses of history and a "living fossil" in the Yi and Han nationalities, and the research not only helps to investigate history contact between the two nationalities, but also contributes to determine the Sino-Tibetan cognates.3.The research of the six domestic animals words of Yi language is weak. The comparison of six domestic animals words of Yi language and its relative languages not only can make up for the shortage of Yi study, but also deepen the understanding of culture, and can provide related language comparison with typical examples meanwhile. The full text is divided into eight sections. The methodology of the introduction includes the distinction between cognate words and loanwords; the related research achievements of cognates and loanwords in Sino-Tibetan languages; the research status of the six domestic animals words in minority languages area; and a brief description of the research contents, methods, significances as well as corpus resources. The first chapter to the sixth chapter are the main part of the paper, by adopting the combination of synchronic description and diachronic analysis method, on the basis of collecting a large number of corpus, and explore the source of the "horse" "cattle""sheep" "pig" "dog" and "chicken" in turns. They emphasize on investigating phonetic corresponding form between Yi language and other Sino-Tibetan languages, and take example by achievements about historical comparative linguistics and the literature of archaeology, and explain the source of the six domestic animals words one by one.The significance of the relationship between cognates and loanwords of the six domestic animals words in Yi dialects lies in:on the one hand, through the analysis of the phonetic correspondence forms of the six domestic animals words in Yi language and other Sino-Tibetan languages, the discovery of some historical sound change laws of Yi dialects could provide a reference for subsequent historical comparative study; on the other hand, it could make up for the inadequacy of research materials of the Chinese dialectology, provide research methods and ways that we used in this case for further comparative study between minority language and Chinese language, and also give some evidence of the language contact theory.
