Acupuncture is an essential component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). For over thousands of years, in the whole Chinese nation's health issues and its development, the contribution of acupuncture cannot be denied. There were about 200 years since the introduction of acupuncture to The United States of America (USA). Although the U.S. government has been gradually regulating the practice, it is only in these three decades that acupuncture is significantly meant to take root, sprout and grow. In this new century there are two phenomena: "adoring naturism" and "emphasizing assimilation", which has created a good opportunity for acupuncture to completely develop and stride towards the world. To expedite the generalization in use, promotion and development of acupuncture in such a well developed country like USA, will be an essential breakthrough for acupuncture to strut towards the world and thus to benefit the whole mankind.This dissertation starts with a research of the history and present situation of acupuncture in USA, meanwhile it points out strategies for the new launch of acupuncture in the States: adequately utilize the wisdom and ability of acupuncture professionals; more broadly connect the medical fields,governmental departments and others from all walks of life; rearrange all active/positive elements; improve knowledge and clinical competence of acupuncture professionals; establish collaboration on acupuncture research with high quality and regulation; strengthen the bonds with mainstream medical professionals in terms of communication and collaboration; to the public as well as the medical professionals, unfold the message regarding acupuncture and amplify its broadcast; obtain coverage in health insurance; promote communication and development regarding acupuncture internationally; sufficiently demonstrate clinical values of acupuncture; assist acupuncture to seat among the international medicines.
