Background and Objective:Some investigations suggest that postprandial dyslipidemia play a key role in the initiation and progression of coronary artery atherosclerosis. Aggressive lipids-lowering treatment might reduce future cardiovascular events in patients with CHD. Recently there are large amount of studies focusing on regulating fasting lipids of patients with CHD. While there are few reports about adjusting postprandial dyslipidemia ,we adopted high-fat meal test to observe the effect of Xuezhikang on blood lipids in patients with CHD.MethodsFifty patients with CHD after four weeks diet control were recruited for the study, the patients came from the out-patient and ward of cardiology department. Taking care of traditional dietary habits, nutritionist designed diet project which consisted of 50 g fat,28 g protein and 60 g carbohydrates, total energy was 800 calories .Venous blood samples were collected at fasting state and 2,4,6 hours after high fat meal, serum was separated and stored in -70℃ C refrigerator .Then fifty patients with CHD were randomly divided into conventional group(aspirin , β -blocker, nitroglycerin) and Xuezhikang group(0.6g twice a day plus routine treatment) After six weeks , we repeated above-mentioned high-fat diet test.Results1. Comparing fasting blood lipids and postprandial blood lipids in all the subjects before the therapy, the postprandial serum concentration of TG, Apo B, Lp(a) were increased significantly and serum concentration of HDL-C, Apo AI at 2-6 hours were decreased , serum TC,LDL-C concentration remained unchange.2. After six week of treatment, serum concentrations of TG,TC,LDL-C, Apo B and Lp(a) at the fasting state and postprandial state in Xuezhikang group were decreased much more than those in control group, and serum concentration of HDL-C, Apo AI at the fasting state and postprandial state in the Xuezhikang group were increased significantly as compared with those in control group.3. The area under triglyceride curve(TG-AUC) over 6 hours in the Xuezhikang group after treatment was smaller than that in control group.Conclusion1. Serum concentrations of TG,ApoB,Lp(a) were increased and serum concentrations of HDL-C,Apo AI were decreased after high fat meal.2. Xuezhikang could effectively lower serum concentrations of TG ,TC, LDL-C, Apo B, Lp(a) and upregulatethe serum concentrations of HDL-C, Apo AI at fasting state and postprandial state in patients with CHD.
