Clinical Studies Of Acupuncture Plus Drug Therapy Liver Depression And Kidney Infertility

1.Objective:The sterility is one of the modern gynecologic common diseases. Due to the highly developed society, its incidence rate rises abruptly in recent years. The sterility rate is currently about 10% among females of child-bearing age. It, not only influences marriage, family and society, but also became one of the world health concerns. In order to explore effective treatments for sterility, this research is carried out based on massive eastern and western medicine literature. In addition, acupuncture and moxibustion are applied together with medicine under the doctrine of free coursing of liver qi and nourishing of spleen and kidney essence as well as qi-blood. Acupuncture and moxibustion are used to dredge the meridian and collateral and the taste augmented ramble power is applied to recuperate viscera and bowels. It is confirmed that for a Liver Yu Shenhsu type of the sterility, the use of acupuncture and moxibustion together with medicine to remedy the sterility problem has its scientific basis and the method does not cause bad side effects. Therefore, it is suggested that the therapy is ready for clinical application. And it is expected to benefit the patient of sterility.2. methodology:60 sterile patient diagnosed as liver depression and kidney deficiency are divided into two groups by random sampling. One is experimental group, and the other is control group. Each group contains 30 patients. The patients in experimental group are treated by acupuncture and moxibustion together with the taste augmented ramble powder, gouqizi , nuzhenzi , tusizi , shayuanzi. While the patients in the control group take only the above mentioned Chinese herbal medicine orally. 60 sterile patients must go through the basic diagnosis of liver qi movement stagnation, yin deficiency, yang deficiency and have their disease pattern surveyed at outpatient service. The patients in the experimental group are treated with acupuncture and moxibustion in abdomenal point and back point alternately from the fifth day after the catamenia until ovulation for 8 times. And the patients need to take the Chinese herbal medicine start from the fifth day of catamenia for 25 days continuously. Define a catamenia cycle as a treatment course, the treatment results are observed after the third treatment course is finished. During the treatment period, the patients are requested to observe and record the foundation temperature and put down symptoms and improvements if any every day on their own. This research gives the grade of liver depression kidney yin deficiency and separately before and after treatment. Finally, the grade is used to compute individual curative effect index and the index is then used to evaluate the total curative effect.3.the results:In the treatment group of 30 patients 14 patients are cured, the ratio is as high as 46.67%. Among them 13 patients improved in symptoms and signs, the ratio is 43.33%. Though the treatment is invalid for 3 patients, the effectiveness rate reaches 90% in a total of 30 sterile patients.In contract, 7 patients in the control group become pregnant. It accounts for 23.33%. 14 patients improved in symptom, which is 46.67% of the sample and 9 patients do not made improvements, the ratio is 30%. The total effectiveness rate is 70%. The results show that the use of acupuncture and moxibustion together with medicine to remedy sterility has a significant curative effect for Liver Yu Shenhsu. Though some patients with symptom of Liver Yu Shenhsu have not become pregnant, they made improvements in their health.4.conclusion:This research is carried out based on Chinese herbal medicine theory, The theory is applied to the clinical cases of sterility resulted from the Liver Yu Shenshu. The summaries of the results are as follows:(1) Clinical experience indicates that the main reason of sterility is a lack of ovulation and/or insufficiency in Yellow body function and which in term is mainly caused by the yin-yang conversion disorder called Liver Yu Shenhsu.(2) The sterility is more often than not categorized as a deficiency/excess syndrome. It is a liver/spleen/kidney damage in nature with the qi stagnation in the liver as a sign. Relieving of the symptom and curing the disease have to be done simultaneously. With dredging the qi of the liver as the first step, the spleen and stomach can be strengthened and their blood circulation can be more regulated and smooth, and therefore the kidney can be supplemented by the essence it needs. In summary, it takes both remedy and health care to fight the problem of sterility. (3) The acupuncture and moxibustion have a function of dredging the meridian and collaterals. They cure the internal disease by working from the external. The cure can also be bidirectional and comprehensive. The acupuncture and moxibustion can promote ovulation, stimulates the nerve incretion and balance. Secretion of human body(4) Taste augmented ramble power together with medicine for kidney can cure the liver, spleen, and kidney simultaneously. It helps to improve incretion adjustment, strengthen the liver and kidney, condition the spleen and stomach, and regulate the circulation and pulses.(5) The treatment of sterility by utilizing exclusively acupuncture and moxibustion will have its limitations because sterility is a complex chronic health problem. While a treatment by combining of acupuncture and moxibustion with Chinese herbal medicine shows a significant advantage in enhancing the curative effect and shortening the course of treatment.
