| The historical site is retention thing of human social development and the cultural activity, reflecting the life style of each era in each place concretely. Temple constitutes the most heavily thing in the historical site in Taiwan, and it is an important sign of the folk culture. At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, batches of Fujian and Guangdong resident, crossed the sea and came to Taiwan to open up virgin soil, they brought the religious belief of the former township, setting up the temple at their resident place. These temples are not only the consolation and finding sustenance of immigrant's spirit, but also transfer to be courage for the immigrant to overcome all kinds of difficulties and help each other. And in the localities, such as public security, industry, traffic, education, enjoying amusement because of friendship ties, and so on, all were carrying out through the temple.Most of temples in Taiwan had been extended at every era , it had not merely noting down the historical evolution and the orbit developing of the temple, but reflecting the rise and decline of changes in society, economy, politics, culture, community and so on at that time. We say that the historical site is valuable, most for its solidifying the history and noting down the truth. The history of temple is a mirror of the history of developing Taiwan. This kind of value can quote each other as proof with history of the characters, it can also revise the deviation the wrongly characters record too.I chose 12 temples among them, and make research one by one , the result of study has not merely confirmed the rise and decline course of the temple. And I find that there were many mistakes in the spreading temple history and mislead the scholar and general masses, so they demand urgently the clarification of every case. I hope I can accumulate numerous of research cases some day, maybe it can make my theory more constructing, svstemaUzation and theoretical. |
