The dissertation mainly discusses the relationship between overseas experience and modern Chinese literature, aiming to find how overseas experience had influenced authors'overseas writing both directly and indirectly. It focuses on three questions: first, what kind of historical background, life experiences, social perception and campus life had worked on the changes of the psycho-cultural structure and thinking modes of overseas writers? second, how the western life experience, the study experience and the cultural tradition change the writers'cultural thought and the esthetic consciousness; third, how the writers'culture psychology, the thought pattern and the esthetic consciousness change the Chinese literature. In general, the focus of the thesis is how overseas experience affects the Chinese modern literature's occurrence.From the aspect of modernization, in this introduce Chinese modernization is confined to the experience of the western modern society, the modern culture and the modern literature, which were the perfect union of modernization of social environment the main body experience and the esthetic performance. All modernization finally boils down to the men's modernization. The writers which study abroad tried to seek the way to new life in the modern environment of the culture connection between China and the West. They had experienced from the Chinese center to the western center, and finally got to the integration of two cultures in the thought. When studying abroad, the Chinese center's culture psychology was radically shocked. They formed the dual opposition modern pattern on the foundation of evolution theory: envy the west, hate Chinese tradition, which induced the Latter Qing Dynasty Literature Improvement and the Literary Revolution of Campers. From cultural imbalance to cultural balance, the writers broke away from envy-hate psychology to consciousness and deliberateness. Overseas experience was the immediate cause that had made those authors'literary career possible. It also helped to constitute the content of modern literature and its theme of reflecting, critiquing, exploring with a spirit of spitefulness, bitterness, and peacefulness. In accordance with this experience, the modernization of Chinese literature came to be manifested as nation-state modernization and individual modernization, historical modernization and aesthetic modernization, dialogue between the traditional China and the modern West rather than taking Western modernity as its final object.The main text is divided into three parts. In the first ten years, the writers mainly studied in Japan, because the Jiawu WAR's stimulating, Japan became the Chinese'teacher. The men included two kinds: some were the exiled revolutionary, like Liang Qichao, Zhang Taiyan and Chen Duxiu; others were students, like Brother Zhou, Xu Shoushang and so on.
