Modernity and tradition co-exist is an important feature of the Age of Globalization. Tradition is the foundation of modern development, as well as maintaining the tradition need for modern technology, development space and opportunity. The goal of social changes in China is the construction of the order of modern civilization from a cultural perspective. The process of social changes in China means that the steering of modernity and the feature of the process is the core-periphery gradient mode of development. The culture and the values of minority groups in marginal and remote areas are filled with the modernity that covers whole society, although the economic modernization is far from achieving. Traditional personal family life has changed in the historical background of modernity.This paper combines quantitative and qualitative research methods. It uses the method including participant observation, depth interview, questionnaire survey and documentary method to collect information, choosing Miao village in Xijiang for the case to study, and selecting the women of Miao nationality in Xijiang for subject investigated. It regards working experience in cities and TV media as the important way for personal experience of modernity. This paper analyzes the changes of Hmong women's family life in traditional communities and women's own understanding and feelings about the changes. And then the paper discusses the conflict and integration of modern culture and traditional culture, at the same time thinks national cultural consciousness under the background of globalization. The paper is divided into three parts:The first part describes the history and current situation of the Miao nationality in Xijiang, highlighting the women's traditional customs of family life in Xijiang and the general situation of changes in the rising of TV media and the tide of rural workers;The second part makes a concrete analysis of the women's changes in love and marriage life, birth and parenting life, and the new family problem under the influence of the popularity of television and out-migrant for work;The third part is conducted to discuss the elimination and reconstruction of the family-based and female-dominated Miao traditional culture in Xijiang. Through careful study, in this paper four conclusions can be drawn:First, TV media and working experience are the main way for Hmong women in Xijiang to experience the modern urban civilization; Sencond, long-term TV media contacting and experience of city life accelerate the Hmong women's changes of traditional marital conception and bearing conception; Third, the resentment of wife left at home in Miao village is the new family problem in modern work flow; The last, TV media and working experience are the main force for the elimination and reconstruction of Miao traditional culture in Xijiang.On this basis, this paper further discusses the national cultural is consciously or not and how to consciously under the background of modernity.
