The anti-illiteracy education is necessary not only for society progess, but also for individual person. The functional of adult education as the functional of social economy and politics directly affects the country development. Because of the high illiteracy-rate in rural China, it is very important to pay more close attention to the rural anti-illiteracy education in the People' s Republic of China.Based on Historical materialism and uses for reference of sociological theory and method, The discourse chooses anti-illiteracy' s organize, teaching material, form, teacherand peasant mentality as object of study. Meanwhile, combined historical docunments, archives with oral account, the discourse describes the launchment of anti-illiteracy education at the basic level in a great detail, and draws on the experience of the theory of adult learning-motive to analyze peasant' s learning mentality.
