Clinical Study On The Combination Of Fire-needle And Electroacupuncture Therapy In Acne

Objective:Through prospective randomized controlled trial(RCT), to observe the effect of the symptom of skin lesions, general symptoms and the Testosterone levels with Fire-needle Therapy combined with Electroacupuncture Therapy in Acne, evaluating the effect of the therapy generally, to provide the prove for the treatment in Acne with acupuncture.Methods:Randomized controlled trials were carried out in this research.90q ualified Acne patients were randomly divided into three groups——treat ment group, fire-needle control group and electroacupuncture control grou p, with30cases in each group. Electroacupuncture therapy was taken in e lectroacupuncture control group every other day(14days a course of trea tment,2course totally) while the fire-needle treatment was used in the fire-needle control group every seven days(4times totally).And the trea tment group use the fire-needle therapy combined with electroacupuncture Therapy (same as above). Before, after the treatment, through the Scores of skin lesions, Scores of general symptoms and the Testosterone level test, all the patients were evaluated to prove that if it is effective t o cure the Acne.Results:1.Baseline Results:Before the treatment, there was no statistical difference (P>0.05) between the three groups in terms of age, gender, course of disease, affected location of the facial nerve,as well as the Scores of skin lesions, Scores of general symptoms and the Testosterone level test.2. Comparing before and after the treatment in three groups, Scores of skin lesions, Scores of general symptoms and the Testosterone level test improve, which is significantly different(P<0.05).It illustrated that three kinds of therapy are all effective to cure the Acne.3. The comparison among the three groups is carried out.①the Scores of skin lesions:After treatment, the decrease of the Scores of skin lesions among the three groups is significantly different (P<0.05). The treatment group is superior to the other groups and the fire-neddle control group is superior to the electroacupuncture control group.②Scores of general symptoms:After treatment, the decrease of the Scores of general symptoms among the three groups is significantly different(P<0.05). The treatment group is superior to the other groups and the electroacupuncture control group is superior to the fire-neddle control group.③the Testosterone level:There is no statistically different among three group in the decrease of the Testosterone level (P>0.05).4. After the therapy, the treatment group had a cured rate of36.7%, a significant improved rate of83.4%, and a total effective rate of96.7%, and11cases were cured,14cases were significant improved,4cases were improved,1case had no effect. The electroacupuncture control group had a cured rate of10.0%, a significant improved rate of50.0%, and a total effect rate of86.7%, and3cases were cured,12cases were significant improved,11cases were improved,4cases had no effect. The fire-neddle control group had a cured rate of16.7%, a significant improved rate of60.0%, and a total effect rate of90.0%, and5cases were cured,13cases were significant improved,9cases were improved,3cases had no effect. The general effect among the three groups have significant difference (P<0.05). And the treatment group is best in the general effect among three group, while there is no significant difference between the fire-neddle control group and the electroacupuncture control group (P>0.05).Conclusion:1. fire-neddle combined with the electroacupuncture therapy cooperate mutually and improve the symptom of skin lesion and the general status, which is better than exclusive use. And there is no side-effect and good patient’s compliance.2. fire-neddle and electroacupuncture therapy both could improve the Ance effectively and there is no diffence between them. However, The former is superior to the latter in the aspect of improving the symptom of skin lesion while it is oppersite in the aspect of improving the general status.3%fire-neddle combined with the electroacupuncture therapy/fire-neddle/electroacupuncture therapy could bring down the Testosterone level, the therapy maybe do the effect through bring down the Testosterone level, but it still need more prove.
