Chinese Separable Words have meaning as verbs. but,unlike regular verbs, theyare unique vocabulary system, which can be separable and expandable. Sinceseparable words have both one-word and group-of-word property, one view considerit as a word,or the other as a form of verb-object phrase. Separable words is majorstudy subject for Chinese grammar scholars and one of the most difficult Chineseeducation problem for foreigners. Due to difficulty to teach and learn separable words,a lot of study has been done for this and there are still controversial opinion about theform of separable words.This study consists of five chapters.In chapter1, it has overview of this study,methods.To define the scope of this research, verb-object Separable Words areextracted for this study. In chapter2there is comparison of previous separable studybetween from Chinese language education academia and from foreign Chineselanguage education scholars,particularly in South Korea. Chapter3explains structuralcharacteristics of verb-object separable words,relationship with otherwords,complement and modifier, reiteration, inversion and various extension forms.In chapter4, It will show common errors and mistakes done by Korean students whenusing Separable Words by using questionnaire and recording process. In chapter5, toimprove error shown in ch4, this study try to find general ways how separable wordscorrespond to Korean Chinese words. This study finds separable words used inKorean Chinese words and compare meaning and correspondence between words andphrases or expandable forms in various ways.
