Research On Chinese Phonetic Geographic Type

There are so many Chinese dialects in China,and the survey and research of a single Chinese dialect has make a great achievement,but there is little attention about the Geographical typology of phonology of Chinese dialects now.This dissertation will study the phonological typology of 1283 Chinese dialects Data Base(283 dialects just only Phonological data)based the published reports of Chinese dialects to test the universals of phonology that found by Maddieson et al.At the same time,this dissertation will study some Diachronic evolution of Geographical typology in Chinese dialects.This paper is divided into three parts and twelve chapters.Part 1 is chapter 1,mainly introduces the background and method of this research,the achievement of other scholars,the resource of the data and the symbols in this dissertation.From the second chapter to the fifth chapter,it is the second part: Synchronic discourse.In the second chapter,we unify the structure of Chinese phonology and the theories of Western phonology.From third to fifth chapters,we study the synchronic geographical types of syllable structure from the three aspects,Consonants,Vowels and Tones in Chinese dialects.From the sixth chapter to the tenth chapter is the third part,the Diachronic Evolution discourse.We talked about the sound change type in diachronic research and the theory of same historical evolution area about language contact and language evolution in Chapter 6.From Chapter 7 to Chapter 9,we brought up three diachronic geographical types of different historical period,Baiyue Language period,Three Kingdoms Language period and Tang five dynasties and ten states Language period.Also,we reached their same historical evolution areas according to the sound change types,and then compared with the historical administrative regions,so that we can confirm the historical period of Chinese dialect beginning started at the Wei and Jin Dynasties objectively in chaper 10.
