Folk Culture Writing Of Contemporary Zhuang Literature In Guangxi

The Zhuang ethnic group is an important member of the big family of our great motherland and the ethnic minority with the largest population in China.For thousands of years,the Zhuang people have lived and prospered in the vast Pearl River Basin,creating a splendid ethnic culture which displayed in the daily life and spiritual characteristics of the Zhuang people.These folk cultures include Buluotuo mythological culture,"Na" culture,"Mo" folk religious culture,Liu Sanjie’s ballad culture,Huashan mural art culture and the self-contained Zhuang language culture.They are the crystallization of the collective wisdom of the Zhuang people and the remarkable characteristics which distinguish the Zhuang people from other ethnic groups.These valuable folk cultural resources have become the fertile soil for the Zhuang writers and an inexhaustible source of literary creation.Most of the contemporary Zhuang writers in Guangxi who were born and raised in the Hongshui River and the Zuoyoujiang River,have been affected by the the Zhuang cultural customs and lifestyles.Their works have strong ethnic and regional cultural characteristics.This research focuses on "Na" culture（clothing,diet,residence,festivals,land,rivers,etc.）,myths and legends,folk beliefs,folk songs,folk languages,etc.,to re-examines the cultural factors of contemporary Zhuang literature in Guangxi,and to excavate the spiritual and cultural connotation.Firstly,starting with the "Na" culture,this research excavates the rich and colorful folk culture and spiritual and cultural connotation in literature works.The Zhuang ethnic group is a typical rice-farming ethnic group.Based on the "Na" culture,it has the folk custom of clothes,eating,living,festivals,as well as the mysterious land feelings and river images.Writers either linger in the beautiful natural scenery of the Zhuang region,or indulge in the colorful ethnic costumes of the Zhuang ethnic group,or express their feelings for the colorful daily life of the Zhuang ethnic group,which makes the contemporary Zhuang literature in Guangxi full of strong ethnic customs and distinctive regional characteristics.Secondly,this research discusses the promotion and innovation of folk traditional culture in literature works from the perspective of folk beliefs,folk literature and marriage customs.Under the domination of the concept of animism,the Zhuang people believe in many gods.Most of the people believe in "Wu"（"Shi"）,Moism,and Taoism,including the worship of tree,cow,leech or ancestor.These religious beliefs are internalized in the daily life of the Zhuang people and affect all their activities.The Zhuang writers wrote these unique folk cultures affectionately with simple,fiery and real language,which form a writing consciousness.The history of the Zhuang literature is a history of the Zhuang folk literature as well as the history of the Zhuang culture.Folk literature such as Buluotuo,Bubo,Moyi King,Hundred Birds Clothes,Liu Sanjie,Tianluo Girl and folk songs are widely spread in Guangxi.The rich folk literature are not only the spiritual resources of the Zhuang writers,but also the important content of their writing.The Zhuang writers recreate these folk literature,endow the works with new characteristics of the times,and glow with vitality.The Zhuang people have colorful marriage customs such as singing folk songs,touching colored eggs and throwing hydrangeas,the fertility customs such as asking for flowers to send children,taking younger brothers as children and adopting children,as well as the customs of not staying at husband’s house before giving birth to a baby.These unique folk cultural customs have become an important part of writers’ writing which present distinctive regional and cultural characteristics.Thirdly,the research discusses the contemporary Zhuang literature in Guangxi from the perspective of folk language.The Zhuang folk language can better reflect the Zhuang people’s living customs than Mandarin.Zhuang sayings,rural slang and regional dialects carried by the Zhuang language can better convey the unique cultural psychology and life customs.The use of Zhuang folk proverbs,aphorisms,epigrams,Zhuang homonyms,folk nicknames,and vulgar language by contemporary Zhuang writers in Guangxi have formed the unique aesthetic image of the Zhuang people in Guangxi,and have formed the creative style and local language tone of Guangxi contemporary Zhuang literature,which is very different from other regional literature.Finally,the research extends the theory of Guangxi contemporary Zhuang literature in folk culture writing,analyzes the difficulties faced by Guangxi contemporary Zhuang literature and folk culture writing.And some future directions on the ethnic characteristic choice and culture persistence of Guangxi contemporary Zhuang writers’ writing are pointed out.
