Big-scale geological mapping of mine field is one of the absolutely necessary works in minerals prospecting. It is difficult to carry out geological mapping in some areas where are covered by quick soil or vegetation, or the demorhism there is acute. In order to solve this problem, many geologist have made great efforts to seek for other geological mapping methods. And now, many methods are developed, such as traditional geological mapping, common physical and chemical exploration techniques, y spectrometry, and so on. But there are no reports about the method of using XRF Technique in-suit into geological mapping.In this article, the author studied the problems, such as theory basis, test technique, data processing method, methods of geology confines partition, encountered in the application of XRF technique in big scale geological mapping. According to these, a set of convenience and simple XRF geological mapping techniques were set up. The XRF technique has been first used in LuHuo Au mine field, SiChuan province and TongLiang Sr mine field. The results as follows: the theory used in this method is reliable, the XRF technique is advanced, the partition of geology confines is accuracy, it is feasible to use XRF Technique in-suit in big-scale geological mapping , the XRF Technique is a new, fast, high efficiency method in geological mapping and it can be used in more areas.
