The latest theory and method of sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, seismic stratigraphy, and reservoir geology are adopted in this paper. By using the data of seism data, log data, core information, the framework of sequence strata and sedimentary facies in the areas of Talaha in the north of Song-Liao basin are analyzed and studied deeply, also sand body are forecasted. The fruits enrich the theories sequence stratigraphy of terrene basin and terrene basin sedimentology. All researching will play an important role in exploration and development of this area in the north of Songliao basin.According to traditional stratigraphy, the bed of interest is Yaojia set. Yaojia set is consist of two whole third-order sequences (named SQ-14 and SQ-15 from down to up) by sequence stratigraphy.According to the data of seism, mud well logging, well logging, cores and the principles of well correlation, each third-order sequence is divided into three fourth-order sequences (system tracts) and sequence XIV is divided into nine fifth-order sequences (parasequence sets). The lowstand systems tract is formed in the background of forced lake regression, which is consist of three prograding parasequence sets. This prograding complex consists of several small prograding bodies. The transgressive system tract consists of three retrogradational parasequence sets. The highstand system tract consists of three prograding-aggradation parasequence sets. The main sedimentary facies in SQ-14 and SQ-15 are lake facies and delta of lake facies, including the microfacies of distributary channel, mouth bar, distal bar, interdistributary bay and Shallow-lake, Shore-lake subfacies. And mouth bar and distal bar are the most developed reservoir rocks. Siltstone or packsand that is most of reservoir rocks have secondary pores. The reservoir belongs to the middle porosity-low permeability reservoir.Siltstone is the main reservoir rocks in Putaohua oil layer. To the east of the fault zone Aogula-halahai, when the ratio between sand and strata depth is over 5%, reservoir rocks may be oil containing. The oiliness is better only when the ratio between sand and strata depth is from 25% to 65% and when the sand body depth is from 0.5 to 5.0 meter or accumulating depth is over 3 meter.
