The development of remote sensing technology and geography information system, hasoffered the information sources and technological means for global changes andsustainable development of the whole world. Land use is regarded as the most outstandingview sign of the surface layer system of the earth, then its change is an important studiedfield in global change in recent years. Monitoring and analyzing the land use space-timechanges can better understand the change course and mechanism of land use. Meanwhile, through adjusting the economic activity of human society, impel the using of land morerationally, guarantee the pertinence, validity of the national macroscopical strategic policy, thus achieve the purpose of sustainable utilization of land resource. Longkou city is anearly opening city and land use changes are representative. This article is supported bynational natural science fund "The function of land, sea and environment impact andecological effect of human activity"(40271001) and the subject of "The renewal databaseof land use of Longkou city ", taking Longkou as a case, on the basis of GIS technologyand the treatment technology of multi-temporal remote sensing images, then establishessynthetical comprehension model of remote sensing images including GIS information, draws land use types of different periods. Then utilizes land use information tupu tomonitor and analyze land use space-time changes. Main research contents and researchresults originally in the article are as follows:1. The article systematically studies the development course and technologicalcharacteristic, especially takes integrated expatiation of the application and the practice ofRS and GIS in the land use space-time changes. Practice has proved that remote sensingand geographical technology of information system are the best technology to monitor andanalyze land use changes.2. It applies land use and land cover category method on the basis of remote sensingimages synthetical comprehension model, taking Landsat ETM+ of 1989 year and 2003...
