Study On The Growth Of Great Tit In Manpower Nest-boxes

In 2004 and 2005, The study was progressed at natural protective area in Zuojia , Jilinprovince. The aim of this study is to reserch developing of the secondary cavity-nesting birdGreat Tit ( Parus major ) in manpower nest-boxes.we choosed 75.5ha hypo-forest to act asexperiment plot, nest-boxes is150 in all.The Great Tit population' idiophase was 119 days in 2004,and was102 days in 2005. Theclutch size is 6 least,and is 14 most. The clutch size is 9.73±2.052 (n=128);the egg weight is1.47±0.12g(n=484),the size of the egg is 1.646±0.063×1.287±0.045cm(n=484). The Great Titpopulation has 2 visible breeding pinnacles. The clutch size,incubate time,brood time existbest prominence difference(P<0.01)in two breeding pinnacles. Except tail length doen't existdifference, rest parameter exist best prominence difference(P<0.01)in two breedingpinnacles;The avoirdupois and tail length doen't exist prominence difference, rest developingparameter exist prominence difference, and that the difference of the body length,wing lengthand tarsometatarsus length attain best prominence difference(P<0.01)in two years.The incubate phases : parents leaving nest to campaign is 5:03±0.17(n=6) at first, andentering nest is 17:21±0.20(n=6) in the end. The overall time of the parents taking food is192.33±30.06min(n=6)every day,and squatting nest is 560.17±28.99min(n=6). The parentsaverage leaving nest is 15.83±3.97times(n=6)every day.The brood size of the Great Tit withsquatting nest degrees,leaving nest degrees,squatting nest time, leaving nest time doesn'texist pertinence(P>0.05).The brood phases: The parents feed nestling at past 4:00 everyday,the pioneer time is 4:28,the late time is 18:56, the time is more than 14 hours. The parentsfeed nestling doesn't exist obvious pinnacle.The Great Tit feeding food times with brood sizeexist positive pertinence(P<0.05, r=0.252), with nestling age exist prominent positivepertinence(P<0.01, r=0.563).The fledgling'developing of differ brood size exist prominencedifference(P<0.05), further more apiece growth parameter appearing difference' age isdissimilar. The fledgling' average avoirdupois with brood size exist negative correlation.The most important factor of nest-site selection of the Great Tit is the number of treeswithin a 10-m radius half circular plot towards the orientation of the entrance of the nest-boxes centered on nest tree, the number of trees within a 10-m radius circular plot centered onnest tree,the thorax radius of the nest-tree,the orientation of the nest entrance and the averageheight of the shrub in this range are very important.
