The Research And Implementation Of Dynamic Metadata Management System For National Fundamental GIS

With the rapid development of spatial technology and information technology, metadata is becoming more and more important. Geospatial metadata is the background information that describes the content, quality, representation, spatial reference, management and other appropriate characteristics of spatial datasets. It is helpful for users to understand, discovery, locate, mine, evaluate and maintain spatial dada. Dynamic metadata is the extension of geospatial metadata, it also records the metadata information that products in the process of changing and updating the dataset.This paper introduces the concept, role and meaning, and standard of metadata firstly. Then it proposes the concept of dynamic metadata. On the base of our national standard content of Geographic Information Metadata and the applying status in our country, this paper designs a dynamic Geo-spatial metadata management system. This system implements mainly three functions: the input, the management and the query. This system provides the academic bases and technical prototype for the construct of National Fundamental Geo-information dynamic metadata management system. Finally, we have a conclusion on our work, and propose the next to do.
