The combination and development of computer technology and the GIS industry has brought the generation of a large amount of information, therefor, how to quickly locate and understand what people need from the vast amounts of information in the GIS industry has attracted a lot of attention. In recent years the metadata has become one of the most general way to quickly understand data. In GIS industry, most metadata are collated and generated after the data operation is conmpeleted.In this case, metadata is a brief description of the data, but the content is not deep enough.In terms of mapping products, once the thematic mapping product is generated,the feature data,Mathematical foundation and elements data which are generated during the mapping progress can not be saved. In this case,it’s hard to completely describe the mapping metadata.Therefor, in this casermation of thematic mapping products, produced in the process of the mapping data elements, mathematical basis for mapping and related finishing elements information mapping data cannot be saved to the cartographic products, which to the integrity of the mapping metadata description difficult. Therefore, mechanism of metadata dynamic ally acquisition need to be established.On the purpose of expanding the content and application of metadata, mechanism of metadata dynamically acquisition has been proposed. Different from existing GIS mapping softwares, this paper come up with the metadata dynamically acquisition concept. The advantage of dynamically acquiring metadata is that it can flexibly update the data that generated in the process of operation into metadata in time, which makes the operation as shown in the metadata more vivid. Dynamic metadata can be applied to not only the real-time overview of the data content, but also the real-time inspection of the data quality. Real-time inspection also makes up for the existing defects of the data quality inspection system for mapping process. Dynamic metadata expand the content and application of metadata, also improve the efficiency of data quality inspection.this paper mainly competed the following work:(1) Using XML technology to design of metadata structure. The metadata structure is based on the international standard and has been reclassified according to GIS mapping program. This paper has designed and implemented metadata dynamic acquisition mechanism.(2) The application of metadata has been expanded. Appling metadata dynamic acquisition mechanism into data quality inspection system has been generated. data quality inspection system based on metadata dynamic acquisition mechanism has been designed.(3) Combining with "remote sensing interpretation system" project and according to the object-oriented program design thought, data quality inspection interface bas been designed. Based on the mine monitoring data in Penglai, the feasibility of data quality inspection system based on metadata dynamic acquisition has been verified and the project demand for metadata and data inspection has been achieved.
