As one subsystem of Synthetic Information Mineral Resources Prediction System, The Regional Gravity and Magnetic Field Anomaly Interpretation System is an application of Geographical Information System (GIS). The system is achieved by combining series Expert System (ES) of Synthetic Information Mineral Resources Prediction with GIS, based on the theory and methodology of Synthetic Information Mineral Resources Prospecting proposed by Professor Wang Shicheng. The system software is developed using Microsoft Visual C++, as well as domestic-developed MAPGIS Application Programming Interface.Gravity and magnetic exploration are among the most important geophysical prospecting technologies. The principle of the prediction used both is to measure the difference of density and magnetic magnitude of rock and ore formation in the earth crust respectively. In order to determine the geologic structure and identify the mineral orebody, the result data yielded from both gravity and magnetic measurement is analyzed and calculated. The regional gravity and magnetic anomaly field interpretation system, presented in this paper, is mainly used to interpret the regional gravity and magnetic data semi-automatically, establish graphic and attribute database as well. It can be widely used in the fields such as earth crust structure study, regional geological investigation, as well as prospecting for mineral resources such as petroleum, natural gas and mineral ore.It is unrealistic for the time being, due to the complexity of geo-science involved, to build a fully automatic mineral resources prediction system. As a highly enhanced measure, this evaluation system offers a number of advantages as listed below:1. Offering the capability of processing huge amount of information data.
