In order to solve the problem of energy effectively, Guangdong Province has made more effort to develop the nuclear power industry. It is very important to evaluate what impact of the old nuclear power stations to the marine environment, before the new nuclear power plants being built. The liquid wastes of the nuclear power stations and all halobios are moved by flow field. Therefore, the key is how to effectively simulate the flow field and the dispersion of material to the sea nearby the nuclear power plants. The object of the paper is to develop three dimensional rectangular coordinates and σ coordinates models, applying to the sea nearby Daya Bay nuclear power station. According to the research of native and overseas experts, and the experience of the project team, finite difference method is used. The computing region is divided to many even nets, the finite difference method maintains forward & receding difference and middle difference, the depth dependent eddy viscosity coefficient is computed on the mix length theory formula. A lot of detail work has been done, containing the balance of stability and accuracy, the chose of diffusion coefficient, the improvement of program. Adding to the initial condition and boundary condition, program is made to compute the values of water level, tidal velocity and concentration of radionuclides. At last, the law of the flow field and dispersion of matter are researched.Comparing the result with the measured values, the validity that simulation of the flow field and dispersion of material using the three dimensional rectangular coordinates and σ coordinates models is proved. We find out the best method of numerical simulation of the three dimensional model to the sea nearby Daya Bay nuclear power stations according to the detail difference of the data charts based on the different coordinates models.
