The Research And Application Of WebGIS Technology Based XML-SVG

WebGIS,which is the combination of Internet and GIS, provides an effective tool for public to obtain GIS data and geographic information service. XML promotes the development of Web. GML is an application of XML in geographic domain. SVG is a vetor graphic style based XML. The paper introduces WebGIS theory and correlative technology, analyzes some problems in development of WebGIS; thiefly discusses about WebGIS theory which is based GML (Geography Markup Language), SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) and WebService. An open WebGIS model is created. The model uses GML to describe geographic data, uses SVG to display Web map, and uses WebServices to realize Web map services. A WebGIS archetypal system in .Net FrameWork is exploitured. The system validated the feasibility of the designed open WebGIS model in technology, attempted on shared and operation each other of geographic spatial data.
