Xml In Webgis Application Of Research

Based on the study of the current status of WebGIS and traditional techniques used, analyxed data transmission in WebGIS and the characteristics of XML, proposed using XML format on both the server ?side and the client ?side for data transmission; secondly, studied the characteristics of Geography Markup Language, extended standard GML geometry schema, it can now describe ellipse(circle)> arc* round rectangle; created new geographic feature types and an application schema by inherent the base feature types of GML, developed a functional modular for transforming data from Maplnfo format to GML format, integrate the geographic property and none-geographic property in one document; using extensible Style-sheet Language transform the geometry property of point feature> linear feature and polygon feature to VML graphics, rendering the vector graphics directly on the browser.Based on analysis above, the author developed a WebGIS application system using XML. Implement the vector map distribution and query function.
