Study On The Technology Of Intelligent Map Output Based On ArcGIS

It is of vital importance to improve the intelligence level of map output. ArcGIS, the internationally leading GIS platform, is now widely used in China. However, its map-output module often fails to meet the special cartographic requirements in our country and its intelligence level needs improvement. In consideration of these problems, the author has built a Map Knowledge Base by using the idea of Knowledge Base in Artificial Intelligence (AI). By controlling the direction of map output through Knowledge, intelligent map output is realized. Meanwhile, by extending components and classes, the special requirements of mapping of our country is satisfied. To be specific, the paper includes the following three aspects:First of all, the author explores the components and constructing methods of the Map Knowledge Base. It is the foundation of intelligent map output.On the basis of analyzing Knowledge-expression strategies and basic components of Knowledge, the composition structure of Map Knowledge Base and the constructing method of its sub-bases are presented.Furthermore, the author has an exhaustive study, and summarizes four methods of the development technology of ArcObjects components. Then the author presents basic coding methods and general process of ArcObjects and its componential extension.Finally, the author accomplishes intelligent map output with the support of Map Knowledge Base and ArcObjects componential development technology. The author also summarizes the realization and extension methods of intelligent map output technology which is based on ArcGIS system, and presents an application-extended formula to meet the specific requirements of map output.Practice shows that, making full use of ArcObjects and its extension mechanism and integrating it with AI, one can actualize all kinds of customized function, and achieve map output intelligently, efficiently, accurately and elegantly.
