Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a non-parametric technique formeasuring and evaluating the relative e?ciencies of DMUs which standfor decision making units with common inputs and outputs. With theunique characteristic and superiority, it becomes the focus of study. Ithas got rapid development in theory study and application, and nowit has become the common and important analysis tool and researchmethod in management science, system engineering, decision analysis, evaluating technique and other fields.Firstly, this paper brie?y reviews the historical development ofDEA method, summarizes the basic work since it was established 28years ago, concludes the general steps of this method, and analysis itsadvantages and disadvantages.Secondly, we illustrate the basic idea of DEA by an example and in-troduce the main theory results of traditional C2R model and the DEAmodel with fixed inputs.Thirdly, based on the single objective DEA model with fixed in-puts and outputs and the multi-objective DEA model, we establish a...
