The automatic tracking, identification, and forecasting of storms Based on thevolume scan data of Doppler Weather Radar, is the principal mask of the Dopplerweather Radar as surveillance facility of meso-scale and micro-scale disaster weathersystem such as squall lines.This paper try to analysis some features of squall lineswith Doppler Radar so as to do some effective effect for weather forecastingThe identifying of squall lines' physic features based on the Doppler WeatherRadar was discussed mainly. Firstly, the China's new generation weather radarsystems and its main products are described. Secondly, storm detection algorithm ofWSR88D and its development are introduced. In order to summarize the physicscharacteristic of the squall line weather course,the structures and envelopments ofsquall lines, the environment factors which effect them,the kind of squall line andthe characterize of its strong center of the reflectivity are described.Finally thecharacterize based on the Doppler radar ,the physical feathers of the field and thestorm characterize within squall line are analyzed in detail referring to WSR-88D andthe Monitoring technology of Doppler radar.Based on data from CINRAD/SAweather radar, an analysis was made of the squall lines on11 April 2006 inconjunction with the Doppler Weather Radar Base Production and SecondProduction software, the result shows some effective features for forecasting thesquall lines.In conclusion, we discussed and summarized the feasibility of the squall lineidentification module, which laid a solid foundation for further research ofdetecting squall lines.
