With the development of Internet technology and brought forword of concept of digital earth, traditional GIS is running to WebGIS that may share information. WebGIS is an organic combination of GIS technology and Internet technology; its application fields expand from expert system to all aspects of society and WebGIS has become a popular information tool.However, the middle and small scale company purchases platform software with difficult funds, in addition, only the using tool is obtained. So own technology cannot been enhanced and is restricted by the developer forever, Therefor it is the first choice of developing own WebGIS platform from the bottom for the middle and small scale company and the individual. So the author proposed one kind of four-tier distributed DragonMap Web system based on J2EE/XML.J2EE platform released by SUN fully meets the development of modern enterprise application. It not only inherits platform-independent feature of Java language, but also combines component technology. It provides modern enterprise with a integrated solution to establish distributed application. Developing WebGIS using J2EE may bring its advantage into play fully, and implements a WebGIS application with n-tier, modularization, easy- migration, high independence and distributed platform.The main conternt includes:â‘ introduces the the vector model of the DaragonMap edition platform.â‘¡introduces the Four-tier distributed design of the DragonMapWeb by J2EE/XML as well as the technology of every component-layer.â‘¢introduces the function,realization,environment of the DragonMapWeb.â‘£introduces emphatically how to design the point symbol by SVG technology.The system not only analyses detailedly the design and the technology ofDragonMapWeb from spot to surface,from easy to difficulty ,but also realizes the whole design from Graph Platform to WebGIS Platform.It is proved that this set of system have a certain extension and practice significance regardless of from research angle or study angle.
