Research On Second Support Develop Platform For WebGIS

Since Geographic Information System(GIS)first emerged in 1950's,it gradually become net work platform with the fast development of computer science and the wide popularity of networking technology in the recent four or five decades. With wide and spreading application of WebGIS,a second develop support platform for WebGIS,which is easy and efficient for further development,is become increasingly necessary.A comparison and a contrast are posed in the thesis between ArcIMS,which is currently mainstream WebGIS second develop platform product, to analyze their advantages and disadvantages respectively and to nurture the author a standpoint toward them.Afterward,following the thoughts,the design and implementation of a second develop support platform based on RealGIS developed by the Artificial Intelligence(AI)Lab in Zhejiang University are discussed.There are two types of implementation of WebGIS:server-based WebGIS development technology and client-based WebGIS development technology. However,in the client-based situation,clients are responsible for most operations with the help of the distributed object technology.There are various methods to the two.In this thesis,several types of mainstream client-based WebGIS products are compared and the advantages and disadvantages of them are analyzed.The client-based product with best efficiency and customer experience is selected.In the next part,after the selection of client,further comparison between various second develop support platform developed by different corporation is posed. As for the products of ArcIMS,the two second develop support platform in the two methods,server-based and client-based,are ASP.NET and JSP respectively. Respectively for various development platform for a comprehensive comparative, including aspects like principle of work and implementation of functions.Based on the foundation established by these previous work,the author has nurtured her own design of a second develop support platform.The author designed and implemented a second develop support platform of WebGIS based on an analysis of RealGIS,which is developed by the AI Lab in Zhejiang University.
