Research On Information Management System For Urban Seismic Disaster Assessment Of Shuozhou

On one hand, with the growth of economy and the expansion of city in China, more and more people swarm into the city and live there. Once a relatively heavy earthquake shakes the city, it can cause a loss of billions of or more money and, even worse, the death of maybe millions of people, leaving the city not to function properly. On the other hand, lying between the round-Pacific seismal belt and the Europe-Asia seismal belt, China has been one of the countries where earthquakes happen most frequently. So it is very vital for the city to prevent earthquake disaster. In this thesis, by virtue of the function of inquiry, statistic, spacial lay-out and second development of Geographic Information System, Information Management System for Urban Seismic Disaster Assessment of Shuozhou is developed on the basis of factual data of Shuozhou, which provides the seismological bureau of Shuozhou with the ability to assess the loss caused by seismic disaster and to frame logical countermeasures to meet the corresponding emergency.
